Great Protection w/out the White Cast
We had been using the ThinkBaby mineral sunscreen for years. I wanted to look for a similar alternative but with less white cast. I actually bought this on a whim because it had the fastest shipping at the time (needed it for an outdoor event we were going to). We are now three purchases deep with this product. In my opinion, I think it gives the same amount of sun protection as before without the white cast. It rubs in great. Non-greasy. Initially, the lack of added fragrance was a little off-putting because we were so used to the typical coconut or citrus scents, but we all got used to it. Definitely on my list of subscription purchases now. I wish it was available in a larger size.

Smells good, covers well, it does leave a white sheen, I don’t need to reapply.
I use this just once on my face in the morning, apply makeup over it, and I haven’t burned yet! Been using it for two years now. Unfortunate thing is that my face is not tan at all because it doesn’t allow any rays. LOL So I my makeup has to match the rest of my body… I stay under an umbrella at the beach for about half of the time that I’m there. Otherwise I am out in the sun. And I do not reapply this. I am in the sun between the hours of 9 and 1 PM and I’m in and out of the shade and sun half of the time. Still no burning. Actually I don’t think I reapplied it at all once I got home from the beach and I was out at the pool regularly for another hour with no shade. So it seems to be pretty darn good! Some people say they don’t like the smell, but I specifically bought it because I love love love the coconut smell. My daughter says it smells like bananas but I don’t like the smell of bananas and I don’t think it smells like that.It does definitely leave a white sheen. Hence my need for make up.

It lost a star because does have a white cast to it that is ok for body but little too ghostly for face i have olive skin might be ok for lighter skin. It works well a little bit on the dry. Good for body not so great are darker facial skin. Has the amount of zinc my dermatologist suggested.

Recommend for dry skin
Love the protection this sunscreen gives me. Moisturizing and protection all in one. I have dry skin so if you have oily skin you may want to stay away from this one. The scent does not bother me at all as it is minimal. It leaves a little bit of white cast but disappears after 15 mins. What works for me is to moisturize my skin first before applying this sunscreen. It is a bot thick so you may want to rub it between your hands first before applying it on your face. Highly recommend.

Purchased for a boat trip in the keys since I’d be out in the sun longer than normal. ….and the boat captain had the same bottle in her own bag!!! Worked great on my super fair and sensitive face. Smells a bit like tropical Playdoh – kinda funny but not bad. Yes, you get some white glow but that’s what the zinc oxide does. I’d rather be glowing white than super toxic.

Wonderful for a face sunscreen
Sun Bum is amazing! I love all their products, but especially this one for my face. All natural mineral based, so no breakouts or harsh chemicals on your face. The smell is great like all their products; however, note this is zinc, so is thicker than traditional sunscreen and can leave you looking a little white. Since I only use this type for my face, I pat on lightly and then rub in to avoid looking like a ghost.
